Five (Okay, Six!) Fall Looks made with Ann Taylor clothing
Ever since I moved to the U.S. four years ago, I’ve become a fan of Ann Taylor clothing. When you land in a new country, there’s so much to take in — food to try, neighborhoods to wander, shops you’ve never heard of. (It’s a little tempting to want to sample everything at once!) But it was actually my husband who first mentioned Ann Taylor clothing. Knowing how much I love elegant clothing, he said, “You’ll probably like it there.” He was right. The first thing I bought was a hot pink coat, and to this date, I’ll get the occasional “Love your coat!” from someone passing by.
Last week I popped into the Ann Taylor store in the North Point Mall (Alpharetta,GA) to see what’s new and to maybe add a little something to my wardrobe. I usually reach for dresses and skirts, but this time a pair of burgundy leather pants completely stole the show. Still, I couldn’t resist trying on a few other things…

Back to the Ann Taylor clothing…

Even though summer has ended, I found a soft, colorful dress sprinkled with abstract floral splashes. It felt cheerful and casual, I could picture wearing it to a farmer’s market or on a city stroll. The neckline came out a little, so it needed a bit of double-sided tape but that’s an easy fix and could be purchased from Amazon.

The dress that surprised me most was a lavender number. Purple isn’t usually my go-to, but the silhouette was so flattering, and the fabric felt soft and light. Sometimes the style wins me over first, and the color follows, that was the case here.

I’ve always had a thing for ruffles, which is probably why I grabbed this dress to try on. Although ruffles mostly don’t work for me — they tend to add volume, and with my curves, I don’t exactly need more of that. But that’s the fun of a fitting room, right? You can play dress-up for a minute, even if you know it’s not coming home with you. The fabric is super soft and this pretty dress would look amazing on someone with a slimmer frame.

These were the standout. The flared cut made my legs look longer (I’m 160 cm tall/ 5’4″, so I notice these things), and the rich color felt perfect for fall. Paired with a crisp white shirt, the look was sharp but still easy to wear. I could imagine this outfit for work, dinner, or even just walking through the park on a cool day.

While trying on blouses, I added a scarf around the neckline, instantly, it looked like a new outfit. I have a drawer full of scarves at home (probably too many!), but this reminded me why they’re worth keeping: one small accessory can completely shift the vibe.

Next, I slipped into ivory jeans with a beige polka-dot shirt and brown belt. The combination felt relaxed and easy, something I’d wear on a Saturday for errands or coffee with a friend.

And who doesn’t love a good sale? I spotted a simple white tee and a colorful skirt tucked into the clearance rack. Together, they struck just the right balance between casual and elegant. The tee will pair with almost anything, and the skirt adds the kind of bright pop I always look for.

In the end, the burgundy leather pants were my clear winner. Comfortable, flattering, and just the right amount of bold.
If you live in the Atlanta area, make sure to check out the Ann Taylor LOFT store at the North Georgia Premium Outlets. The collections there aren’t always the newest, but they carry a wide selection of great Ann Taylor clothing at outlet prices (40%-70% off).
What about you? Do you ever shop at Ann Taylor? And would you go for dresses or pants this fall?
