October 2013. I was sitting on a bench in Valencia’s Old Town (Ciutat Vella - ESP) completely mesmerized by the incredible beauty surrounding me. Ornate balconies, warm-colored facades, cobblestone paths, and that golden Mediterranean light… it was all too beautiful to fully absorb in one sitting. My pro Nikon camera rested on my knees, marking me as the tourist I truly was. But in that moment, I didn’t mind. I wanted to look like someone soaking it all in, without the haste inherent to someone who has been here hundreds of times. Every step through Valencia’s Old Town pulsed with a seductive energy I hadn’t felt in a long time.
