From the outside, artsy cafe Antiques and Coffee looks like any other café in the suburbs — the kind you might pass on your way to Target without a second glance. But step inside, and suddenly you’re somewhere else entirely.
The air smells faintly of fresh pastries and polished wood. Soft jazz drifts from the speakers, and every so often, a grandfather clock chimes in the background, as if reminding you to slow down. No two chairs are the same: velvet, leather, carved wood, slipcovered. Some tables wear crisp tablecloths, others are bare. It feels more like you’ve wandered into a charming old home than a coffee shop.
I kept thinking: this café practically asks for a book. Imagine curling up in a vintage chair, sipping your drink, and reading a classic novel — something atmospheric and romantic, like “Rebecca” by Daphne du Maurier, “The Portrait of a Lady” by Henry James, or “Tess of the d’Urbervilles” by Thomas Hardy. Pair that with a slice of cake and the gentle clink of cups nearby, and you might forget you’re in the middle of Johns Creek, Atlanta area.
There’s an Asian influence, too: red folded fans and lanterns hang from beams on the ceiling. Vases in every shape and size line the shelves, candleholders glow on tables, and paintings dot the walls.
Each corner holds a surprise — a gramophone here, an old typewriter there. You can’t help but wonder who used them, what lives they belonged to before.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without trying something sweet (like Old-Fashioned Senator Cake with Meringue & Cream). I ordered a chai latte and a honey pistachio layered cake ($14 total). The cake was soft, just mildly sweet, with the faintest hint of lemon at the end — a quiet indulgence. It’s the kind of treat that’s perfect for a little break in your lunch routine, especially when the foodie in you is bored of salads or sandwiches.
Surely I’m not alone in indulging in a little cake now and then, here’s to having a sweet moment for yourself! 🙂

Like any artsy café, weekends are busier, especially at breakfast and lunch but if you visit on a weekday afternoon, you might just score a peaceful spot to sip, read, or people-watch. I loved noticing how different guests interacted with the antiques: one couple whispered about the old clocks, while a teenager posed with a gramophone for Instagram. Everyone seemed to find their own little delight.
Amid a collection of suburban coffee shops, Antiques and Coffee stands out for more than what’s in your cup, it’s the atmosphere: cozy, layered, and a little magical.
P.S: If you’re a fan of cozy corners, soft jazz, and little discoveries hidden in plain sight, this spot is a must. Grab a book, sip something warm, and soak it all in, you’ll leave with more than just a caffeine fix. If you had to pick just one indulgent treat to make your day, what would it be?
