A Local Guide to the Best Art Galleries in Marbella Spain
Whenever I travel to a new city, I always try to visit at least one art gallery. If time allows, I visit several. It has become part of how I experience a place. Architecture tells one story, museums tell another, but art galleries reveal something much more personal. They show how local artists see the world around them.
Marbella became my home for six months, which gave me the luxury of exploring the city slowly instead of rushing through it in a weekend. I wandered through its streets, visited museums, returned to my favorite cafés more than once, and spent many quiet afternoons discovering art galleries in Marbella Spain.
One thing I noticed almost immediately was that every gallery has its own personality.
Some are run by artists themselves, others by collectors or interior designers. One gallery hosts painting workshops, another focuses on helping clients find the perfect artwork for their home, while a small gallery hidden inside Marbella’s Casco Antiguo is run collectively by three artists.
Although every gallery feels different, they all share the same purpose: bringing beauty into people’s lives.
Inside you’ll find expressive abstract paintings, peaceful landscapes, playful contemporary works, textured sculptures, bold colors, soft neutral palettes, dramatic contrasts, and quiet compositions that invite you to stop for a little longer than you planned.
If you are visiting Marbella, I highly recommend including at least one gallery in your itinerary. Even a short visit adds another layer to understanding the city.
Best Art Galleries in Marbella Spain
Libertad Couso Art Gallery
Address: Av. Miguel Cano, 6, 29602 Marbella, Málaga
One of my favorite discoveries was Libertad Couso Art Gallery.
The art gallery in Marbella Spain belongs to the artist herself, Libertad Couso, who has more than thirty-five years of artistic experience. Besides exhibiting her contemporary paintings and sculptures, she regularly organizes art workshops for anyone wanting to learn or simply spend time creating.
I had the opportunity to speak with her for a few minutes. It was one of those conversations that stays with you long after you leave. She talks about her art work with the confidence of someone who has devoted her life to art, yet with a warmth that immediately puts you at ease.
Her gallery presents several series of paintings, each with its own palette, rhythm, and emotional atmosphere. Walking through the space feels like moving between different chapters of the same artistic journey.
Another advantage is its location just a short walk from Alameda Park, making it an easy stop while exploring Marbella’s center.
Metamorphose Gallery
Address: Carril de Picaza, 25, 29670 Marbella, Málaga
One of the first things I noticed here was the beautiful natural light.
Large windows fill this Metamorphose art gallery in Marbella with soft daylight, allowing every painting and sculpture to breathe. It completely changes the viewing experience and makes it easier to appreciate details, textures, and colors.
The contemporary artworks are thoughtfully arranged throughout the gallery, creating enough space for each piece to speak for itself.
Many of the paintings invite quiet reflection. Some immediately catch your attention with vibrant colors, while others reveal themselves more slowly, leaving a lingering impression long after you’ve left.
The gallery owner, Anastasia Marchenkova, is also an experienced interior designer, making this gallery especially helpful if you’re looking for artwork that complements your living space.
Es Arte Gallery
Address: C. el Fuerte, SN, 29602 Marbella, Málaga (inside the hotel)
Finding this art gallery in Marbella turned into a little adventure.
Google Maps kept sending me around the building because it didn’t realize the gallery is actually located inside the hotel. After several wrong turns and refusing to give up I finally found it.
The setting immediately creates a different experience. Instead of busy streets outside, you suddenly enter a calm hotel interior where you can look at the artwork without distractions.
The collection feels playful, contemporary, and sometimes even slightly quirky. Several pieces sit comfortably on the edge between elegant and funky, which somehow matches Marbella’s personality surprisingly well.
Art Gallery Reja
Address: C. Misericordia, 15, 29601 Marbella, Málaga
Hidden inside Marbella’s beautiful Casco Antiguo, Art Gallery Reja is small in size but rich in artistic character.
The gallery represents only three artists (Álvaro Reja Expósito, Carolina Cuadrillero Cabrero, and Carlota Reja Cuadrillero), who also happen to be its owners. Each has a very distinctive style, yet together they create a harmonious collection of contemporary works with subtle hints of Impressionism and occasional echoes of Picasso’s influence.
It feels intimate, personal, and perfectly suited to the narrow streets surrounding it.
Athenea’s Gallery Art & Antiques
Address: C. Fortaleza, 3, 29601 Marbella, Málaga
Athenea’s Gallery is slightly different from the other art galleries in Marbella Spain.
It is both an art gallery and an antique store, bringing together paintings, sculptures, antique furniture, decorative objects, ceramics, and historical pieces under one roof.
Walking inside feels almost like entering a small museum where every object carries a story from another time. Even if you aren’t planning to buy anything, it is a fascinating place to explore.
Galería Isolina Arbulu
Address: Urb. Cortijo de Nagüeles, 88D, 29602 Marbella, Málaga
Galería Isolina Arbulu focuses on contemporary art and offers a carefully curated collection in an elegant, welcoming space. It is another excellent stop for anyone exploring Marbella’s local art scene.
Excellence Art Gallery
Address: Plaza Santo Cristo 9 & 10, 29601 Marbella, Málaga
Located in Marbella’s Old Town, Excellence Art Gallery regularly presents exhibitions by both Spanish and international artists. Depending on the exhibition, an entrance fee may apply.
NÍTIDO Gallery
Address: Edif. Marino, Avenida del Mar, 29602 Marbella, Málaga
NÍTIDO Gallery presents contemporary art in a clean, modern setting that allows the artwork to take center stage.
ART Victory Gallery
Address: Av. Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso de Hohenlohe, 19, 29602 Marbella, Málaga
ART Victory Gallery offers another interesting perspective on Marbella’s contemporary art scene and is worth including during an afternoon dedicated to visiting several galleries.
